Kenneth Ray Shellnut, age 74 of Warren, passed away September 12, 2017. He was born in Hazel Park on February 2, 1943; the son of Jena and Ida (nee Rowland) Shellnut. Ken was the proud owner of Shellnut Brothers Barber Shop in Hazel Park for 55 years and a General Motors Retiree of 35-1/2 Years. Ken also served his community as a loyal member of Hazel Park Masonic Temple 570 where he was a longtime member of the motorcade as well as a member of the Moslem Shriners in Southfield. He also coached wrestling when his sons were young. Ken is dearly loved and will be deeply missed. Beloved husband of Doreen for 55 years. Loving father of Ken and Bruce (Amy). Treasured grandfather of Brandon, Dustin, Dylan, Kaley and Bruce. Dear brother of Dorothy Williams, Glenn, Linda (Darrell) Morris and the late Thomas Lee, Vernice Bush and Edith “Lorean” Dorsey. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Ken's family will receive friends on Friday, September 15th from 2:00om until 9:00pm at A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 32000 Schoenherr at Masonic (13-1/2 Mile), Warren. A funeral ceremony will be held on Saturday, September 16th at 10:00am at the funeral home. Pastor James Bostic will officiate. A committal service will immediately follow at White Chapel Cemetery in Troy. Memorial contributions to Fellowship General Baptist Church in Warren would be appreciated.
