Kerry Maurice Heinz, age 88, passed away on October 5, 2017, at his home in Holladay, UT. Kerry was born October 3, 1929 to John Jacob Heinz and Helen Virginia Larson in Ashton, Idaho. He served an LDS mission in the Texas, Louisiana Mission. Kerry married his high school sweetheart, Beverly Kirkham, on August 22, 1952, in the Idaho Falls, Temple. They recently celebrated their 65th anniversary. He served honorably in the US Army.
Kerry graduated from Ricks College with a bachelor's degree and from Brigham Young University with a master's degree. He taught seminary, was bishop of the Cottonwood 12th ward, and President of the Big Cottonwood Stake.
Kerry was co-founder of Collier-Heinz and Associates, a comprehensive financial planning company. He worked for Mutual of New York, excelled as a Chartered Financial Consultant and Chartered Life Underwriter. Kerry loved his family, all people, reading, playing games with the family, sports, boxing. He loved the gospel of Jesus Christ and was a masterful teacher and communicator.
He is survived by his beloved wife Beverly; children Brad (Mecque), Ryan (Adrienne), Tammy Rodgers (Steve), Kirk (Diane); 14 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren; brothers Richard and Jan.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 12, 2017, 11:00am, at the Big Cottonwood Stake Center, 1750 East Spring Lane, Holladay, Utah. Viewings will be held Wednesday, at the same location, 6-8pm, and one hour prior to the funeral service.
