Dr. Granata was born on December 29, 1961 and passed away on Monday, April 16, 2007.

Dr. Granata was a resident of Blacksburg, Virginia at the time of his passing.

Dr. Granata graduated from St Francis DeSales High School in 1980. He obtained a Ph.D. in biomedical engineering from Ohio State University in 1993.

He is survived by his wife Linda.
