3/3/40 – 5-/12/2017
Age 77, of Jackson, passed away with his family by his side at Henry Ford Allegiance Hospital. He was preceded in death by his sister Earlene Fleming (Don) and son Brad. Larry is survived by his wife of 55 years, Julie, two sons, Brett (Holly) and Derek (Jayne) Wirebaugh, four granddaughters, McKenna, Allayna, Brooklyn, and Payton, two grandsons, Carson and Wilson. He was a proud graduate of Homer High School, where he played four sports. He served in the US Navy and was stationed on the USS Essex from 1958-1962. He had an Associate Degree from Kellogg Community College, the school he affectionately called "Corn-Flake U". He worked at Consumer's Power Company for 29 years in the engineering department and enjoyed retirement for 21 years. He loved spending time with family and especially watching his sons growing up competing in sports at Western High School and, in later years, traveling to watch grandkids playing in Ohio and West Michigan. He also enjoyed golfing and wintering in Florida. He was an avid Michigan State fan and made the trip to Pasadena to watch them win the Rose Bowl in 2014. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Jackson. A celebration of Larry's life will be held at Watson Funeral Chapel in Jackson, Wednesday May 17th at 12:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be added to the Brad R. Wirebaugh Scholarship Fund at Western High School 1400 S. Dearing Rd. Parma, MI 49269 or First Presbyterian Church of Jackson, 743 W. Michigan Avenue, Jackson, MI 49201.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 7:00 – 9:00 pm and Wednesday from 11:00 am until the time of service at 12:00 pm.
