Lauro G. Gutierrez, age 75, passed away on March 24, 2015 in Corpus Christi, Texas.

Lauro, the youngest of eight siblings, was born on August 18, 1939 in Corpus Christi, Texas to Antonio and Dolores Gutierrez. He graduated from Roy Miller in 1958. Lauro served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1958-1962. He was employed with C. C. Army Depot from 1966 to 1993.

He is preceded in death by his parents, brother and sisters, Esperanza, Consuelo, Basilia, Felipa, Bertha and Genaro.

Lauro was a natural- born fisherman who was always ready to give a helping hand to catch more fish; an avid mall walker ready to talk to anyone who would listen, a proud Marine "Semper Fi" and a life-long Democrat.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Rosalinda R. Gutierrez; his children, Ismael I. Duke of Corpus Christi, Texas, Dolores Sanders of Georgetown, Texas, Lauro S. Gutierrez (Elvia), Antonio Gutierrez all of Houston, Texas, Javier Gutierrez (Greta) of Portland, Oregon; his grandchildren, Alyssa, Sebastian, Zachary, Pilar, Ana, Lauro II, Diego, Liliana, Lucia; his brother, Gregorio G. Gutierrez (Lula); numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a Funeral Service to be held at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 29, 2015 at Corpus Christi Funeral Home.

Interment at a later date will be held at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery.
