Lavonne Dean Johnson passed away on March 22, 2015 in Albany, OR, at the age of 85, due to complications related to dementia. Lavonne was born in Council Bluffs, Iowa to Lee and Marie Brown. She attended school in Red Oak, Iowa graduating from Red Oak High School in 1946. She married B. Osburn Shaw in 1947 and moved to Sweet Home, OR, in 1949 with two young daughters, adding a son in 1952. Lavonne moved to Lebanon, OR and married Kenneth Miller in 1955, adding three more children. Lavonne held many jobs over the years, retiring as a bus driver for the Lebanon School District. One of her fondest memories was being on the Olympic Athlete's transportation team at the L.A. Olympics in 1984. Lavonne is survived by her six children; daughters Kathleen of WA; Maureen and husband Kurt Davis of Culver, OR; Colleen and husband Ross Hilden of Olympia, WA; LeeAnn McElhinney of Albany, OR; and sons Ben Shaw and wife Bonnie of Scappoose, OR; and Kevin Miller of Albany. She is also survived by 7 grandsons and 14 great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind her long-time companion Bill Walters of Albany. The family would like to thank Timberwood Court Memory Care facility for their special care. No services will be held. Private family interment will be held at a later date.
