JOHNSON, Lawrence Dennis, "Larry"
Larry finally managed to realize a long held goal - to live forever or die trying. To the surprise of no one anywhere, least of all himself, the part of that goal he managed to realize was the later part. He died on Sunday, April 23, 2017 at 2:44 am in the usual way. He was born at Good Samaritan Hospital in Dayton, Ohio, on 13 July 1944 making him really old when he died; not a great result but always better than dying early.

Arrangements are underway for a wake to be held at the Bellbrook Lion's Center at 2757 Wilmington-Dayton Road on Monday, May 29, 2017 beginning about 1:00 in the afternoon and continuing until all food and drink is consumed. Should be quite a party "wish I could be there"; come early and have a good time.

For those wondering, "Larry Who?", he worked at WPAFB for a bit more than twenty-six years as mostly a computer programmer, finishing up on the command level local area network project. He retired in the spring of 1993 so nobody out there remembers him. He was also involved in the establishment of the Fairborn Playhouse theater group in the old Osborn movie house, but nobody there remembers him either. His kids and grandkids all live in distant states and nobody knows where his ex-in-laws are, the ones that aren't dead anyway. He was the oldest twig on his family tree so somebody's got to tell his sister that she's the oldest now "and I'm glad that's not me".

Since Larry wrote the above part, his family will finish:

Larry was preceded in death by his parents Francis Ralph Johnson and Elizabeth Maxine (Wesley, Johnson, Phipps) Crawford and their infant daughter, as well as his step-fathers Harry Phipps and Fred Crawford. He was survived by "The Twins" Mandy Moyer and Anastasia Sexton, their husbands Mark Moyer and Don Sexton; his grandchildren Sarah Sexton and Sean Sexton; his sister Ellen McAllister, her husband Bill McAllister; step-siblings Jennie Phipps, Andy Crawford, and Phyllis Crawford; first cousins Jay Chetney, Cathy Heikkinen, and Carolyn Ewald; nieces Evie Penrod and Amy McAllister; nephews Eric Pfeiffer, Scott Crawford, and Clarke McAllister; great-nephew Joe Penrod; great-nieces Justin Howard, Ashley Purvis, and Emma Pfeiffer; and great-great-nephew Dakota Howard-Bolles.

He was an active member of the Bellbrook Lion's Club, and a proud graduate of Belmont High School and Earlham College. The burial will be at Woodland Cemetery on May 30th at 3:30 at the gravesite. He will be missed.
