Lawrence J. "Larry" Cameron, age 70, of Dartmouth, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at St. Anne's Hospital in Fall River. He was the husband of Karin (Souza) Cameron who he loved and adored and with whom he shared 40 years of marriage.

Born in Quincy, a son of the late Lauchlin R. and Bette L. (Ritter) Cameron, he had resided in Dartmouth for the past 40 years. While his father was in the Air Force, he traveled the world with his parents.

Larry served in the United States Air Force for 4 years at Grissom Air Force Base in Indiana.

He had received a Bachelor's degree in Political Science from Southeastern Massachusetts University and attended Boston University and Suffolk University.

Mr. Cameron was the current Vice President of Business Development for Mass Development. Previously, he was the Town Administrator for the towns of Dartmouth, Sherburne, and Rowley, Massachusetts. He was a former Dartmouth Town Meeting member and a former member of the Appalachian Mountain Club.

Larry was a kind and generous man who could always put a smile on someone's face. He and his wife travelled to Europe several times, and also cherished vacations with his family in U.S. National Parks, the West Coast, China, and especially the Hawaiian Islands. Larry enjoyed reading, watching sports, especially football, and excelled at writing. Most of all, he loved his children who were the love of his life.

Surviving in addition to his wife are his children, Victoria and Sophia Cameron of Dartmouth; a brother, Gene Cameron and wife Anne of Reading, PA; a niece, Julea Szilli and husband Shawn of Hamburg, PA; a father-in-law and mother-in-law, Raymond Souza and Mary Sunderland Souza of Dartmouth; and his brother-in-law, Allen David Souza of New Bedford and companion Emily Schmarsow of Dartmouth; two great nephews, Dominick and Tyler Szilli. He was also the son-in-law of the late Anna Mae Souza of Dartmouth.

His Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, March 29, 2017 at 10am in St. Julie Billiart Church, 494 Slocum Rd., Dartmouth. Visiting hours will be Tuesday 5-8pm in the WARING-SULLIVAN HOME at DARTMOUTH, 230 Russells Mills Rd., Dartmouth. Burial will be private.
