Kenneth N. Kirby 78, Anderson and formerly of Indianapolis, died on Tuesday, May 6, 2008. He was born in Pekin, IL on February 3, 1930 to the late Leo and Anna (Britt) Kirby. Kenneth was a plumber and worked for Wm. F. Steck for 41 years before retiring in 1993. He was also employed with AK Realty where he served as a coordinator of operations. He was a member of the Indpls. Landlord Association. Known affectionately as "Duke", Kenneth was also an avid John Wayne fan. He will continue to be loved yet deeply missed by his life partner of 34 years, Teressa Anne Sipe; children, Paul Kirby (Carol), Judy Ferdinand, Steven Kirby (Lisa), Sandra Teeter (William), Aaron Kirby, Roger Kirby (Tracie), Deborah Biggers (David), Pamela Rans (Jack), Marilyn Smith (Mark) and Stephen Sipe (Eileen); sisters, Geneva Meade, Geraldine Williams, Lula Belle Riddle and Bernice Knutson; 25 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren; and his beloved cat, Callie and bird, Frankie. He was preceded in death by his sister Glada Pickett, grandchildren Allison and Steven Kirby Jr. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 9, at Flanner and Buchanan Funeral Center - Broad Ripple. A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, May 10, at the funeral center with calling starting at 12 p.m. Burial will take place at a later date. www.flannerbuchanan.com
