Leonard Allen Bosinio

November 24, 1946 - July 12, 2017

Leonard Allen Bosinio, 71 was born on November 24, 1946 to Louis L. and Jessie K. Bosinio, in Pittsburg, Kansas.

Survivors are his beloved wife Carole Lynn Johnson of 36 years in Lincoln, NE and sister, Vicki Sullivan of Lincoln, NE, along with her children Brice Sullivan and Monica Sullivan and their 7 children and 2 great grandchildren, and niece Sheri Trupp of Cypress, CA.

Leonard graduated from Lincoln High School in 1964.

Leonard was tremendously accomplished and served his country honorably beginning his service in the U.S. Naval Reserve in 1964. While training in the Naval Reserve he also was a student at the University of Lincoln studying Biology with additional interests in Photography from 1964-68. He served in the Vietnam War in 1968 as a U.S. Naval Reserve Gunner’s Mate along the dangerous river waterways in the Viet Cong earning the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Bronze Star and the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal. He was honorably discharged in August 1973 to return to civilian life.

What Leonard learned in his military experience would lend to a well-served civilian life as a Nebraska State Patrolman, a Detective for Lincoln P.D. and a prison guard serving the law enforcement community.

But nothing was complete until Leonard met his wife Carole Johnson a prominent realtor serving Lincoln. They were married on June 20, 1981 while Carole’s loving mother Euna Fuller and father Rex Fuller and Leonard’s family watched them exchange their vows.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 26, 2017 at 3 pm at the Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home, 6800 South 14th Street, Lincoln NE 68512. A visitation will be held 1 hour prior to service. You may leave condolences at lincolmfh.com. In lieu of flowers the family asks a contribution to be made to the Capital Humane Society or Lincoln Animal Ambassadors as Carole and Leonard were so very fond of animals.
