Leonard Ernest Wooten, 82, of Hot Springs, Arkansas, passed away March 2, 2017.



He was born October 20, 1934 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Cullen Sloan Wooten and Elsie Rachel Dodd.



Len was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Verna Medcalf.



Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Mary Jane (Itzel) Wooten, of Hot Springs; daughters, Robin Montenieri (John), of Loveland, CO; Tracy Sublett (Howard), of Hot Springs; grandsons, Austin Sublett of Little Rock, AR., and Logan Sublett of Hot Springs; sister Nina Spencer of League City, TX, and many nieces and nephews.



He served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1953-1956, attended college in Houston, Texas while working part-time at Prudential Insurance where he met the love of his life and future wife. He transferred to Louisville, KY and then Hebron, CT, where he retired from Aetna Insurance as a claims adjuster in 1981. Later he fulfilled his lifelong dream of owning a dude ranch in Colorado before moving to Hot Springs in 1983. Len enjoyed woodworking, traveling, reading, fishing, and watching sports. But the thing he loved the most was spending time with his family and special friend & companion, Molly.



Funeral visitation will be held Tuesday, March 7 from 5-7 p.m. and services will follow on Wednesday, March 8 at 2 p.m., at Gross Funeral Home. Interment will be at Hollywood Cemetery.
