Leonard Wheeler Drake of Troy, NH passed away on Sunday, July 16, 2017. He was born in Pittsfield, MA on September 26, 1924; the son of the late Sherman Warner and Katherine Estella (Wheeler) Drake.

Leonard was educated in the Pittsfield, MA school system, graduating from Pittsfield High School. He trained at Fort Devens, MA, and served his country in the U.S. Army during the WWII Allied Invasion of Europe. In his earlier years, Leonard was employed as a postal worker for Pittsfield Post Office. He then went on to own/operate Parker's Garage in Troy alongside his father-in-law, William A. Parker. He worked at Troy Mills and Keene State College as a Purchasing Agent. After his retirement, he worked as a courier for Monadnock Bank.

Leonard was active within the Troy community. He served as a Troy Water Commissioner and on the Troy Cemetery Committee. He was a former member of the Trinitarian Congregational Church in Troy and the Pilgrim Memorial Congregational Church in Pittsfield. He enjoyed playing golf and bowling and was in various leagues and tournaments throughout the greater Keene area.

He is predeceased by his wife, Claire Mae (Parker) Drake and by two siblings, Carl Sherman Drake and Doris May (Drake) Moon.
He is survived by a son, David L. Drake and his wife Tami; a daughter, Dayna Lee Drake-Walker and her husband Robert; two grandchildren, Emalee Claire Drake and Jonathan David Drake; as well as two nieces and two nephews.

A Graveside Service will be held on Friday, July 21, 2017 at 11:30 am at Mountain View Cemetery, Rt. 12, Troy, NH. The FLETCHER FUNERAL HOME, Keene, NH is assisting the family with arrangements.
