VELAZQUEZ, Leonardo, 95, of Tampa, died March 13, 2017. Born in Puerto Rico; he loved to golf, he was a member of the New Hope United Methodist Church, a member of the 1st Hispanic Methodist Church in Brandon where he served as a Deacon, was a Missionary to the Dominican Republic and devoted many years as a Missionary at the orphanages "Home of Children" in various cities in the Dominican Republic. He is predeceased by his wife Maria Josefina Velazquez, daughter Miriam Velazquez, brothers Carlitos Velazquez & Francisco Velazquez and sister Lucia Velazquez. He is survived by his parents Catalina Felix & Benito Velazquez, sons Nelson Velazquez (Miriam), Eliud Velazquez (Elba), brothers Gabriel Velazquez, Juan Velazquez, Luis Velazquez, & Gilberto Velazquez, sisters Francisca Rublack (Tita), Miguelina McSkowicz and Carmencita Vaught, grandchildren Lissette Velazquez, (Dygert), Brenda Velazquez (Scott), Nelson Velazquez, Eliud D. Velazquez, Astrid Fridriksson and Yahel Velazquez, and great granddaughters Alexandria Velazquez, Anna Fridriksson & Sofia Fridriksson. Visitation will be Friday, March 17, 2017 from 6-8:00 pm, with funeral service on Saturday, March 18, 2017 at 10:00 am, both at Hillsboro Memorial Funeral Home, 2323 W. Brandon Blvd, Brandon, FL, 33511. Burial will follow in Hillsboro Memorial Gardens.
