LINDA NELL TURNER SMITH PRIEST LEDFORD COX FUNERAL HOME BASTROP, LOUISIANA Funeral services for Mrs. Linda Nell Turner Smith Priest Ledford will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, February 18, 2018 at the Chapel of Cox Funeral Home of Bastrop. Bro. Phillip McCready and Bro. Charles McClean will be officiating the services. Burial and committal services will follow at Christ Chuch Cemetery under the direction of Cox Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 18, 2018 between the hours of 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. at Cox Funeral Home of Bastrop. Mrs. Ledford was born on April 22, 1943 at Monticello, Arkansas to the the late Lewis Turner and Wynona Murphy Turner and she passed away at home, surrounded by her family on February 15, 2018. She is preceded in death by her parents and her previous husband, Eugene Priest. Linda and her family moved to Goodwill, Louisiana in 1954. In 1969 she moved to Bastrop, Louisiana where she began working for the Morehouse Garment Factory and later retired after 28 years of employment. Mrs. Ledford was a member of the Maplewood Baptist Church. She will be remembered as a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Mrs. Ledford is survived by her husband Ray Ledford of Bastrop, Louisiana; her daughter, Toni Hagan and her husband Larry Hagan of Fiske Union, Louisiana; her son, Keith Smith and his wife Tammy Jo Smith of Carthage, Texas; step-son, Bubba Ledford of Bastrop, Louisiana; step-daughter, Kathryn Junkins and her husband Daniel Junkins of Bastrop, Louisiana. She is also survived by three grandsons, Coach Ty Webb of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Joseph Zachary Webb of Fiske Union, Louisiana, and Tucker Dale Smith of Carthage, Texas; two granddaughters, Tessa Lenora Smith of Carthage, Texas and Brittney Cabaness of Bastrop, Louisiana; three sisters, Barbara Russell of Oak Grove, Louisiana, Sharon Lay and husband Jimmy Lay of Pioneer, Louisiana, and Gloria Dennard of Hot Springs, Arkansas and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family. Serving as pallbearers will be Dennis Straughn, Randy Straughn, Billy Straughn, Mark Murphy, Bubba Russell, and Jim Lay. Honorary pallbearers are Kenneth Ledford, Jeff Ledford, and Jack Murphy.
