Obituary

Linda S. Clark, 55, beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend, died on May 6, 2018. Linda was born on May 19, 1962 in McHenry, Illinois. She lived most of her life in the Western Suburbs.

She graduated from Johnsburg High School in 1981. After high school, she attended the University of St. Francis where she received a bachelor's degree in Social Work. She worked at Cintas Fire Protection (formerly Aurora Tri-State) for an amazing 32 years.

Linda was known for her kindness, resiliency, and her unwavering faith. She was a frequent volunteer at Hesed House, feeding the homeless, as well as a companion for the elderly. She was a devoted Catholic who served on several committees at St. Katharine Drexel, as well as a much-loved Religious Education teacher. She enjoyed taking long walks with the family dog, reading, and spending time with her family at their lake house in Iowa.

One of her greatest pleasures came from watching her husband coach his softball players, who lovingly called her "Mrs. Coach." And, her greatest pride was her daughter, with whom she was constantly laughing, as best friends do.

Survivors include her husband, Perry; daughter Abbey Buckels (Alex); mother, Donna Schaefer of McHenry, IL; brother, Chuck Schaefer (Kim) of Johnsburg, IL; brother, Randy Schaefer (Joan) of Ringwood, IL; sister, Karen S. Hobbs (Darryl) of Arlington, VA; and six nieces and nephews.

Her father, Ted Schaefer (d. 1982), and two brothers, Ron Schaefer (d. 2004) and Dan Schaefer (d. 2005), precede her in death.

Visitation will be 1:00 pm Sunday, May 13, 2018 until 5:00 pm at The Healy Chapel, 370 Division Dr., Sugar Grove, IL. Funeral Mass at St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church, 8S055 Dugan Rd, Sugar Grove, IL, will be held on Monday, May 14, 2018 at 11:00 am with a visitation one hour prior to mass.
