Lisa Anne Suddreth Dale, age 62 of Morganton, went home to be with her Heavenly Father on September 26, 2019. She was born on February 17, 1957, on a snowy Sunday, to the late John Lloyd Suddreth, and surviving, Eunice Mae Clark Suddreth, as the first of four daughters to the couple. Lisa had a great sense of humor and led an active, fun filled life- just like her Daddy. She was also the first granddaughter to the late Woodrow Clark and Hettie (Smith) Clark, and the late John Kelly Suddreth and Annie Marie (Lunsford) Suddreth.
Lisa was saved and baptized at age 9 on May 8, 1966 and served her Savior faithfully. She taught the Bible in Sunday School for 40 years and served in various ministries and on committees in her church, Mount Home Baptist Church.
At age 16 she began driving a school bus route at Salem High School and continued until she graduated from Freedom High School in 1975.
At age 17 she began dating Ervin B. Dale and married her soul mate and love of her life on April 17, 1976. Lisa graduated from WPCC in 1977 at age 20 and began her Medical Transcriptionist career one week later at Valdese General Hospital in the Radiology Department. Her typing career extended over the next 41 years.
In 1996, while working part time, Lisa began her School Bus Ministry driving a morning route at Forest Hill Elementary School where her 4 nieces and nephew attended, Jake Katie, Jennie, Caroline and Anna-Marie. With no children of her own, Aunt Lisa loved driving "Her Kids" on field trips. She continued her morning route at Forest Hill for seventeen years. In 2014, she began driving for her STEAM Academy, the "Crown Jewel" of the Burke County School System. Her CDL/bus license have outlasted her. Over the years, she has been blessed and grateful to work alongside some wonderful and kind people.
Lisa and Ervin have played golf together for 45 years on many courses with many different people. In 2003 they built their "dream retirement home" on this Earth at their home course, Silver Creek Plantation. They have enjoyed every minute of playing with friends and neighbors. In addition to golf, they have enjoyed traveling, concerts, attending NASCAR races, football, basketball, and baseball games.
In addition to her mother, Lisa is survived by her loving husband, Ervin; her three sisters, Jean McMullin, Janet Anthony, and Jona Harrell; her nephews and nieces, Josh and Jessica Anthony, Jake and Jessica Clawson, Katie and Brett Sabol, Jennie and Austin Prior, Caroline Harrell and fiancé Tripp Poske, and Anna-Marie Harrell. Great nieces and nephews, Ella, Brooks, and Clark Anthony.
She was preceded in death by her in-laws, Eugene and Mary Wilson Dale. Her in-laws Ben I. Mull, Charles (Bud) Dale, David and Clara Janette Dale. Also a niece Beth Dale, and Nephew Brian Dale. Surviving her death are sisters and brother-in-law Mildred Mull, Hugh and Linda (Jolley) Dale; Nieces and Nephews, Nicole Mull, David Allen Dale, Rev.
