Lloyd George Holman was born January 6, 1929 in Beaman, MO. He is the son of Roy and Ruby Holman. Lloyd accepted Jesus Christ as his savior when he was 14 years old and was baptized in Shaver Creek, and became a member of Olive Branch Baptist Church. Then he became a charter member of Northgate Baptist Church, and is currently a member of Briarcliff Church.

Lloyd went to Olive Branch Elementary School in Beaman, MO. He graduated from Smithon High School Smithon, MO in 1946. Lloyd and his twin brother, Floyd, enlisted in the Army October 3, 1946. They had their Basic Training at Camp Polk, LA after which they were assigned to the 361st Station Hospital, Tokyo, Japan with the 8th Army. After the war Lloyd returned home and attended Central Business College, Sedalia, MO, where he met Betty and they were married April 13, 1952 and moved from Sedalia to Kansas City, MO. Over their 65 years of marriage they had three children Brenda, Dennis and Kenneth, four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Lloyd worked as an accountant at International Harvester where he retired January 31, 1985.

Lloyd always had a positive attitude and a love for life, family, sports, traveling, fishing, crossword puzzles and yard work. At the age of 48 he pitched a no-hit fast pitch softball game in the church league. He always participated in all the children’s events. For instance, he loved participating in the Boy Scouts of America with the boys and is a Honorary Warrior-Tribe of Mic-O-Say. With his love of travel he and Betty planned at least one vacation a year with the family, and they continued this tradition even after the children were grown and gone. He enjoyed playing golf with family and friends and spending time with the guys at coffee.

Survivors include his wife Betty, daughter Brenda (Steve) Burton of Gladstone, Kenneth Holman of Riverside, Dennis (Sharon) Holman of New Braunfels, TX, brother Russell Homan of Sedalia, 4 grandchildren, Justin Burton of Portland, OR, Christana Holman of Kansas City, MO , Andrea (Josh) Martinez and Cameron Holman of New Braunfels, TX and three great-grandchildren. Also brother-in-law Harry Mosby of Kearney and Don Morton of Sedalia, sister-in-law Barbara Holman and Virginia Davis of Raymore.

Proceeded in death are his parents Roy and Ruby Holman and brothers Floyd and Joel Holman.

Service 11:00am Wednesday October 25, 2017 Braircliff Church, 800 NE Vivion Rd Kansas City, MO 64118. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
