Mrs. Lois Maye Bivens Hendrix, 83, of Connelly Springs, passed away on Monday, December 28, 2020 at her residence, following a period of declining health.
Lois was born on May 9, 1937 in Burke County to the late Doris and Lula Bivens. She was a member of Burns Memorial Baptist Church and was retired from Drexel Furniture, where she worked in the cabinet room for many years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Hendrix, a daughter, Cindy Woods, two grandsons , Josh and Ricky and a number of her siblings.
Surviving are four children; Sherry Padgett and husband Greg, Joy Herman and husband Alan, George Carswell, and Tammy Hamrick and husband Freddie, two sisters; Kay Lackey and Betty Whisnant, and one brother, Roger Bivens. Also surviving are six grandchildren; Lee, Phillip, April, Greg, Jason, and BJ, 15 great-grandchildren and three great great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 2, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. in the Chapel of Heritage Funeral Service with Rev. Dwight Lowman officiating. Interment will follow at Burke Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, from 10:00-11:00 A.M. at Heritage Funeral Service in Valdese.
