Lois Marie Pollard passed away peacefully on August 4, 2017 at the age of 93. She was born Lois Marie Westbrook on December 16, 1923 in
Nebraska. Shortly after graduating from high school in Idaho, she moved to California. She met her first husband, James Claudius Johnson and had two
sons. For a short time, they operated an open air produce market on Los Felix Boulevard in Glendale, California and later moved to Pomona and lived there
for ten years. Lois became the first female to work at the Pomona Weather Bureau, one of her proudest moments. James passed away in 1962. She
continued to raise her sons on her own. In 1966, she married Dick (DuLue) Pollard and moved to Newbury Park, California where she resided for over
45 years. During that time, Lois worked at Manzanita Elementary School serving as an Attendance Clerk and later at Boulevard Travel Agency working as a Receptionist. She was a member of the congregation at Conejo Church and enjoyed serving as the morning greater before Sunday services. In 2013, she relocated up North to Carmichael, California and was a resident at Atria El Camino Gardens up until her death.

Lois enjoyed many things throughout her life, but what she enjoyed the most were her family and friends. She enjoyed many well spent times at the beach, camping, and various outings through the years with the Johnson family (Floyd, Bettie and children). She was a great cook and took pleasure in preparing holiday meals and pool barbeques. She enjoyed watching her sons and grandsons play baseball, football, and soccer; RV camping trips with her friends; square dancing, monthly lunches with her lady friends, and time spent with Marie Cannon and Elsie Mockry. She was an avid walker around the Thousand Oaks Mall for many years.

Lois is survived by her two sons Robert (Nina) Johnson and Paul Johnson; grandsons Tyler (Ava), Thomas (Chelsea), and Stephen; great grandchildren Winter, Wyatt, and Wryder; half brother, Walter Westbrook (Estelita); niece, Marie, and nephews, Walter III and Marty, and many other members of the
Westbrook family. She was preceded in death by her rst husband, James Johnson; second husband, Dick Pollard; stepdaughter, Tanet Manon, whom she raised, and her half sister, Rosemarie Westbrook.

We want to acknowledge the staff at Atria El Camino Gardens for the excellent care and loving support given to our mother for the years she lived there.

A Celebration of Lois's life will be held on August 24, at 11:00 am at Pierce Brothers Valley Oaks-
Griffin Mortuary, 5600 Lindero Canyon Road, Westlake Village CA 91362. A visitation will be held on August 23rd from 6-8pm.
