LORINE IRENE (KRAUSE) ZOCH passed away peacefully into eternal life with Jesus Christ on Friday, August 26, 2016 at Houston Methodist Hospital - Texas Medical Center at the age of 94. She was born on April 30, 1922 to her Christian parents John H. and Alma (Hohle) Krause at her home in Northrup, Texas. She was baptized into the Christian faith on May 14, 1922 by The Rev. A Bohat at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Serbin, Texas. She received a Christian education at St. Paul Lutheran School and was confirmed in her Lutheran faith on April 5, 1936 at St. Paul Lutheran Church by The Rev. Hermann Schmidt. Her confirmation verse was John 11:25-26. Prior to marriage, she worked in Austin and Houston. On December 26, 1943 she married her sweetheart, Herbert Paul Zoch, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Serbin with The Rev. Hermann Schmidt officiating. They resided in many places such as San Antonio, Texas; Denver, Colorado; Midland, Michigan; Pasadena, Texas; and Houston, Texas where they prospered and their lives were blessed with four children. She was a devoted wife, mother, and homemaker. Her greatest joy was spending time with family. She also loved traveling, nature, gardening, cooking, baking, sewing, and animals. She faithfully served her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Her gentle smile and peaceful calmness gave witness of her faith.

Lorine was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband of 72 years; three brothers, Harold, Paul, and Arnold; three sisters and their husbands, Ruth and Herbert Teinert, Irene and Harold Kasper, and Esther King and her husbands, Martin Prellop, Carl Mitschke, and Daniel Lee King; two brothers-in-law, Delmus Franks and Gilbert Schneider; and one grandson, Damon Wright.

Lorine is survived by her four children, Robert and Diana Zoch, Kathryn and Dexter Wright, Shirley and Larry Melcher, and Cynthia and David Carter; eight grandchildren, Tammy and Matthew Nixon, Richard and Cari Zoch, Laura and Robert Leal, Matt Melcher, Jonathan and Ashlee Zoch, Michael and Britni Zoch, Brittany and David Jones, and Sarah Carter; and two great-grandchildren, Richard Nixon and Laurel Zoch. Lorine is also survived by two sisters, Mildred Franks and Ellen Schneider; one brother, Elton Krause; and two sisters-in-law, Hildegard Krause and Meta Krause. She also has many loving nieces and nephews and caring friends and neighbors.

Services celebrating the life and eternal life of Lorine Zoch were held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 3, 2016 at St. Mark Lutheran Church, 1515 Hillendahl Boulevard in Houston, Texas with interment following at Memorial Oaks Cemetery, 13001 Katy Freeway in Houston. The Rev. Scott Heitshusen officiated. Following the graveside service, all were invited to return to the church and share in fellowship with the family at a lunch reception. Family and friends gathered for visitation 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Friday, September 2, 2016 at Waltrip Funeral Directors, 1415 Campbell Road, also in Houston.

Honored to serve as Pallbearers were her grandchildren, Tammy Nixon, Richard Zoch, Laura Leal, Matt Melcher, Jonathan Zoch, Michael Zoch, Brittany Jones, and Sarah Carter; and her great-grandchildren, Richard Nixon and Laurel Zoch.
