Lorraine D. (Massicotte) Hale, 90, a resident of Winchester, NH and former long-time resident of Keene, passed away peacefully at the Applewood Rehabilitation Center in Winchester, NH on Tuesday, May 30, 2017.

She was born September 15, 1926 in Keene, NH the daughter of Alfred and Mary (LeVesque) Massicotte. She was a 1944 graduate of Keene High School. After graduation, she was a bookkeeper at the former Lemay's Furniture Store and she also opened a small hat shop in her home known as "Lorrie's Hat Shop", on Winchester Street. On September 20, 1952 she married the love of her life: Robert P. Hale and the two began their incredible life together.

She was devoted to her faith and was a member of the Parish of the Holy Spirit her entire life. She was also a member of the Ladies of St. Anne in Keene. She enjoyed being a part of her community and most of all being with her friends and family. Those closest to her knew her wonderful humor, sense of style and above all her quirks. She did have a "sweet tooth", which might have been kept somewhat of a secret, had it not been for the "Mooing" Cookie Jar. Family and friends remember her "Banana Bread Logs" as they were known and her famous cheese balls. Patriot Football and Red Sox Baseball were always on in their seasons at her house, and she would cheer them on no matter what. Her favorite (and only) son-in-law Dan loved to tease her that the Yankees were a better team!

She is survived by her daughter: Colleen Kolasienski and her husband Daniel of Winchester, NH, her son: Kevin Hale of Keene, her grandson: Timothy Kolasienski and his wife Ashleigh of Keene, her brother: Joseph Henry Massicotte and his wife Doris of Keene and several nieces, nephews and extended family members. During her stay at Applewood Rehabilitation Center, the staff and caregivers there became her second "family". She loved each and every one of them and was loved in return. She is predeceased by her husband, her brother: Paul and her sisters: Alva, Muriel, Rita, and Jan.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, June 2, 2017 at St. Bernard Church, Main Street, Keene, NH at 12:30pm. Burial will be held at a later time. Family and friends are invited to call on the family from 10am to 12pm on Friday, at the Foley Funeral Home, 49 Court Street, Keene, NH.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Applewood Activity Fund, c/o Michelle Robinson, 8 Snow Road, Winchester, NH. 03470.

In honor of Lorraine, the women attending the services are invited to wear a favorite hat.
