Louis A. Faucher, Jr., 91, a resident of North Swanzey, NH passed away peacefully at the Westwood Care and Rehabilitation Center in Keene on March 23, 2017, following a period of declining health.

He was born August 3, 1925, in Manchester, NH the son of Louis A. and Elvira (Petit) Faucher, Sr. He was a 1943 graduate of Keene High School, where he was fondly known as "Golden Toe", for his kicking skills on the football field.

He went on to proudly serve our Nation as a Corporal in the United States Marine Corps. He always believed in the saying, "once a Marine, always a Marine". He often also said, "Marines NEVER retire". He enjoyed watching and taking part in military parades and was honored to march in Washington D.C. in the Funeral Parade for President Roosevelt.

On April 19, 1952 he married the love of his life: Barbara Kent. In the 1970's he served as a selectman for the City of Keene.

For many years he worked for MPB Manufacturing in Keene. He was a very hard working man, who was devoted to the care of his family. When he wasn't at work, he enjoyed being surrounded by those he loved, especially his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed watching sports events, both on television and in person: Red Sox games were always on during baseball season and he Referried for the Harlem Globe Trotter games, when they played in Keene. He very much enjoyed the time he spent umpiring and referring with NH State Senator, Junie Blasdell across New England.

Near the end of his journey, he found a welcoming home at Westwood. He was able to become a part of the community there and be a part of the activities that they had. His favorite was BINGO.

He is survived by his wife: Barbara Faucher of N. Swanzey, three daughters: Louise M. Winslow of Brattleboro, VT, Deborah A. Faucher of N. Swanzey and Renee E. Campbell and her husband Frank of Northfield, NH, three grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, his brother: Ernest Faucher of Keene and several nieces, nephews and extended family members. He is predeceased by his daughter: Marie T. Helie, his brother: Henry Faucher, and two sisters: Nathalie Eaton and Louise, his twin sister.

In honor of his Patriotism, Mr. Faucher will be laid to rest, with his conrads in the New Hampshire Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Hwy, Boscawen, NH on Monday, June 19, 2017 at 1:30pm. There will be no calling hours.
