Louis was born on March 23, 1927 and passed away on Sunday, March 11, 2018.

Louis was a resident of Michigan City, Indiana at the time of passing.

Also surviving are two daughters, Dr. Rossanna Maria (Dr. George) Massey of Las Cruces, New Mexico, Diana (Harrel) Davis of Santa Fe, New Mexico, son, Michael (Lee Ann) Esper of Michigan City, Indiana; Five grandchildren, Anastasia (Amza) Moglan of Los Angeles, California, Sophia Esper of Peace Corps serving in Africa, Arianna Esper of Chicago, Illinois, Erika (Jeff) Wright of Lagunitas, California along with Austin (Katie) Massey of Portland, Oregon; Great-Grandchild, Starla Rose Wright of Lagu.

He served in the US Navy during WWII in the Asiatic Pacific and Philippines then was called back by US Navy to serve during the Korean War.

Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:00 am, Friday, March 16, 2018 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 1001 W. 8th Street, Michigan City, Indiana with Rev. Kevin Huber officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm -8:00 pm, Thursday, March 15, 2018 and Friday from 8:30 am till 9:30 am at the Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 418 Washington St., Michigan City, Indiana. The American Legion Skwiat Post 451 and the VFW Post 236 will conduct a memorial service Thursday evening at 6:00 pm in the Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel. Visitation at the Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on March 15, 2018.
