Lucille V. Akers, of Ravenna, passed away on Sunday, October 15, 2017.

Born December 9, 1919 to George and Grace Dean, one of 8 children and last surviving. Lucille met her husband Harry while working as a model at O'Neil's Department Store in Akron, Ohio and married on April 4, 1942 while Harry was on leave from the Army during WWII. Lucille and Harry owned and operated Harper's Men's and Women's Clothing Store in downtown Ravenna for more than 20 years. She loved living in Ravenna, managing Harper's and working seven days a week to make the business grow and prosper. She enjoyed Crazy Days and each Sunday changing the window displays. Most of all she loved serving her customers who became her good friends. Lucille and Harry retired in 1980 and spent summers in Ravenna and winters in Cocoa Beach, Florida.

Lucille was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Harry A. Akers Jr and eldest daughter, Jane E. Stanich (Larry).

Lucille is survived by daughter Susan L. McCarrell, son Harry A. Akers III (Beth), grandchildren: Geoffrey B. McCarrell, Mitchell A. McCarrell (Andy), Kelly Akers Loscalzo (Darren), Christopher D. Akers (Ashley), and great-grandchild Mia K. Loscalzo. Lucille is also survived by the family of Larry and Jane Stanich; Andrea Stanich Winters (Jeremy), Matt Stanich (Kim), Kelly Stanich Peck (Jason) and grandchildren: Georgia Stanich, Wayne Stanich, Paige Winters, Ashton Peck, Van Peck and Maeva Peck.

Her family takes comfort in knowing that she has been reunited with her husband Harry and daughter Jane.

Private family graveside services and interment have taken place at Maple Grove Cemetery.
