Rowe Lanterman Home For Funerals
Lucy Ann Gholson, 100, born March 10, 1916, in Dinwiddie, VA, went to be with her Lord and Savior Monday, November 21 at Morristown Memorial Hospital in Morristown, NJ. She was preceded in death by her daughter Dorothy Maclin and also by her 4 siblings including Clarence "Dick" Gholson and Katie Wyche. In 1969 she moved to Morristown and was employed at the Tenco-Tetley Company retiring in 1983. She joined Union Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Charles Marks. She was The Mother of her Church and served on the Pastors Aide Ministry, The Choir, Golden Heritage, Women's Fellowship, she headed the Kitchen Ministry, faithfully attended Sunday School, and Divine Communication and she was a Missionary. She was a lifetime member of the NAACP. She is survived by two grandchildren Jackie Maclin of Hopewell, VA, Jerry Maclin of Edgewood, MD., mother of her great grandchildren Genevieve Blackgoat, four great-grandchildren Jamila Maclin, Kamil Maclin, Rashida Maclin and Arsheala Maclin, two great-great grandchildren Tanaya Price, little AJ Harvin, and AJ's father Frank Harvin all of Edgewood, MD, along with a host of extended family and friends in Morristown and the tri-cities area.
