Lula Koulouris Milonas, age 89, passed away on September 22, 2017. She has now joined her husband of 60 years, Michael T. Milonas; her oldest daughter, Teresa Kappiris; and brother, Dr. Gus Sakkis, along with many other family members.

Lula is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Tommy and Sandra Koulouris; daughter and son-in-law, Jenny and Manuel Klimis; daughter and son-in-law, Helen and Jimmy Reader; and, son and daughter-in-law, Taso and Thay Milonas.

Left to cherish her memory, and carry on her wit and wisdom, are the "Flowers in My Garden", her 11 treasured grandchildren and their families, gracing her with 6 precious great- grandchildren. Her nieces, nephews, god-daughter and special friends also felt the gift of her love and loyalty.

Lula loved the St. John Greek Orthodox Church of which she and her husband were members of the founding group in 1956. A true southern lady, she embraced South Tampa her entire life, being mindful to always appear in public in her "Lipstick and Pearls". She never hurried through life but enjoyed the moments, both big and small. Lula could assess any situation with one of her classic quotes, always with humor and bull's eye accuracy.

It will be difficult to imagine a World Without Lula for all of us who will continue to love and miss her.

In the words of Henry Van Dyke, "And just at the moment when someone at my side says: "There, she is gone", there are other eyes watching her coming, and other voices ready to take up the glad shout: "Here she comes!" And that is dying."

Visitation and Trisagion service will take place Thursday, September 28, 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Blount & Curry Funeral Home, 605 S. MacDill Ave. The funeral service will be held on Friday, September 29, 11:00 a.m. at St. John Greek Orthodox Church, 2418 Swann Ave. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to St. John Greek Orthodox Church Food Bank or the charity of your choice.
