Lynn Ardean Mouw of Dunn, NC was born on April 5, 1947, the youngest of four children (siblings: Jeannie, Deanna, Gerry) in Canby, Minnesota to his parents, Vernon and Laura Mouw. Lynn passed away while surrounded by his family on October 16, 2017 at the age of 70 after living with COPD for several years.

After graduating from Canby High School, Lynn worked as a manager at Montgomery Ward where he met his future wife, Lois Ann Berry of North Dakota. They married in 1970 and had two daughters together.

Lynn enlisted in the United States Army and retired as a First Sergeant after serving 20 years in Signal Corps as a communications specialist. He was stationed in the United States and abroad to include Georgia, Colorado, Washington D.C., North Carolina, Germany, South Korea and Turkey.

After retirement from the Army, Lynn continued to serve his country another 15 years as a data management analyst for the U.S. Army Airborne and Special Operations Test Command. His team conducted data analysis to support testing aircraft safety for paratroopers and equipment.

Lynn had many talents from playing the guitar and singing in a cover rock band, computers, to fixing almost anything. He had an affection for dogs, a great sense of humor, and strong pride for his country.

Most important to Lynn was family. He is survived by his beloved wife, Lois Ann Mouw of Dunn, NC, daughters Carrie Mouw Lewis of Greenville, NC and Cassie Mouw Hannan, John Hannan, Jr (spouse) of Cary, NC and four grandchildren; Taylor Lewis, Thad Lewis, JP Hannan, and Brady Hannan. In addition to his immediate family, he is survived by many loving nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.

A private family gathering will be held to celebrate his wonderful life. Lynn will have a military honors service at his final resting place in Arlington National Cemetery at a future date. In lieu of flowers, please consider sending a donation to the COPD Foundation.
