Arizona Ranger
Lt. Colonel Lynne D. Holliday

Loving Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Friend, and Sister passed from this world into the arms of our Lord and Savior, March 29, 2017.
Lynne was born June 10, 1943 to Christine Engebretsen and Albert Eli Elzy in Oak Park, IL. She earned her Master's degree in Bookkeeping and Accounting. Lynne also spent 20 plus years as a military spouse and enjoyed traveling the world. Her favorite destination was Italy. She was very fluent in Italian and spoke it to her children all the time.
Lynne raised three daughters. Mary Charles, Sherry Billman and Lena Carlton. She loved being a mother and tried to raise her girls to be independent and strong. She wanted her girls to know that the only person that was going to take care of them was the person staring back at them in the mirror.
Lynne joined the AZ Rangers in 2006 and dedicated the rest of her years to serving with them up until the time of her passing. She rose up through the ranks to be a Lt. Colonel and was second in command. Lynne loved being a Ranger and was very dedicated to her job and position. She led them harder than any man could!! Lynne was all woman, but would not hesitate to knock a man in the dirt quicker than you could blink. She was no pushover and did not tolerate any B.S. You did not challenge her unless you were ready for one hell of a fight. This included her Cancer.
Lynne had many friends, but her closest and dearest friend was Roberta (Bobbi) Gale and her husband Bart. They met back in 1985 in Tucson, Arizona. Lynne and Bobbi shared their lives, loves and fears with one another. They were as close as sisters. Bobbi stood by Lynne throughout her whole battle with Cancer and her faith never once waivered. She was Lynne's rock!!
Lynne leaves behind many family. Sister, Jackie Lawrence, Nieces, Lori East, her spouse and children, Jaime Masenthin, her spouse and children, and nephew, Cory Lawrence, his spouse and children. Friend and Sister Roberta (Bobbi) Gale , spouse Joseph Bart Gale, their two daughters, Christy Wright, spouse, Tim Wright all of their children and grandchildren, daughter Lesli Sebastian, spouse, Mark Sebastian, all of their children and grandchildren. Eldest Daughter Mary C. Charles, spouse Loren Charles, grandson, Pierce L. Bailey. Second daughter, Sherry L. Billman, granddaughter, Jaquie L. Burle, spouse Jason Burle, great-grandchildren, Ashley Sheats, Katelyn Sheats, Shelby Burle, and Trevor Burle. Grandson, B.J. Billman, great-grandchildren, Brooklyn Billman, Shante Billman, and Daniel Billman. Youngest daughter Lena Carlton, spouse Ret. Tech Sgt. Todd J. Carlton, grandson, Spencer J. Posey, great-granddaughters, Addison and Brooklyn Posey. Grandson, Darrin C.L. Posey, spouse, Devon M. Posey, great-grandsons, Bradley and Oliver Posey. Granddaughter, Hilah J.L. Lynne was preceded in death by grandmother, Virginia Engebretsen, grandfather, Edwin Engebretsen. Mother, Christine Ackerman, Step-Father, Kenneth Ackerman, Bio-Father, Albert Elzy, and loved one Jack H. Fulkerson.
Lynne will be truly missed and the world has lost a very strong woman but God has gained one tough angel!!
In lieu of flowers the family has requested that donations be made in her name to Banner M.D. Anderson so that she may continue with her fight even in death. RIP Lynne
