Mabel Turner Ledford, 99, of Greenville, SC passed away Thursday, May 25, 2017 at her home.



Born in Greenville, SC, she was a daughter of the late Mack and Irias Turner. She was a longtime member of Earle Street Baptist Church, where she was active for as long as she was able. Mabel was prolific in her crocheting. Her baby afghans are being used around the world and her lap robes are enjoyed by many. She was a member of the Gridley Club and the Woman’s Club. She was also an avid reader. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Leonard Ledford and her first grandchild, Caroline McKenzie Brewer.



She is survived by her children, Vivian Ledford Brewer, M. Leonard Ledford (Ann Marie), Charles Ledford, and Connie Ledford Baran (Bil); 2 brothers, Frank Turner and Charles Turner; 7 grandchildren, Steven Brewer, Cameron Brewer Barkley, Michael Ledford, Morgan Ledford, Laurel Ledford Wright, Molly Ledford, and Elizabeth Baran; and 5 great-grandchildren, Sarah Barkley, Megan Barkley, Keira Barkley, Jaxson Wright, and Coralie Wright.



The family will receive friends at Earle Street Baptist Church in the Fellowship Hall on Sunday, May 28, 2017 from 1pm to 1:45pm.



The funeral service will follow at 2pm in the church sanctuary. Burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery West.
