Madelene L. "Maggie" Hershey, 86, of Fremont died Thursday, November 9, 2017 at Elmwood Care Center. She was born May 25, 1931 in Fremont, Ohio the daughter of Joseph B. and Leona Rose (Darr) Mosser.
She was a 1949 graduate of St. Joseph High. On January 23, 1954 she married Robert Hershey at St. Joseph Catholic Church and went on to work side by side with her husband, as co-owner of Hershey Flowers.
Maggie was blessed with the "gift of gab" was famous for her marathon conversations with her sisters, family and anyone else that had a spare moment. Her respect for and treatment of all people were characteristics she shared with all, and instilled in her children. Maggie loved to sing but admittedly "couldn't carry a tune in a bucket", she also loved to paint -but never finished a painting. All of her shortfalls were offset by her cooking, which she showcased as a member of Gourmet Club. Highlights of her life included time spent with her family especially the family vacations at Outer Banks, playing matchmaker for her grandchildren and Casino Trips.
