Mamie Lois was born on November 23, 1950 in Carriere, Mississippi to the late Curtistine and Jack Madison Ceaser Sr. Mamie Lois transitioned to glory on June 3, 2017 surrounded by her children, loved ones and friends. She accepted Christ at an early age at the New Hebron Baptist Church in Carriere, Mississippi.

Mamie Lois graduated from George Washington Carver High School in Picayune, Mississippi. While attending school, she met and fell in love with her husband Cliffton Gaddis; they were united in marriage on July 13, 1968. They joined Aunt Mamie and Uncle Charlie and moved to Portland, Oregon later that year. Mamie Lois had a fulfilling career serving children, families and adults professionally and personally. Her dedicated commitment was evident in her work at Portland Public Schools Head Start, Albina Head Start and the NE Workforce Center. Mamie Lois always did whatever it took to help anyone who needed something. She fostered nearly 15 children and maintained contact with many of them until her time of passing.
