Marci B. Cooke, 56, of Westmoreland and formerly Bridgewater, NJ, passed away after a lengthy illness on July 4, 2017 at Cheshire Medical Center in Keene, NH.

She was born December 2, 1960 in Newark, NJ, the daughter of Harriet (Schwartzbach) and Michael Semel. On September 16, 1990 she married Jay W. Cooke.

Marci studied at Eckerd College and received her Bachlors in 1986. Later in life she earned her Masters in Library Science from Rutgers University.

Marci was an art enthusiast and enjoyed photography. More recently, she had taken an interest in digital photography and did her own editing. One of her most impressive projects included working with Ken Burns on Roosevelt Documentary. Marci also like to travel and explore new places. At home, she tended to her gardens of flowers and veggies. Marci was an involved member of Ahavas Achim Temple in Keene where she had made many lasting friendships.

Survivors include her loving husband of 26 years: Jay W. Cooke of Westmoreland; daughters: Jannine Cooke and Madison Cooke both of Westmoreland; brother: Paul Semel or Bear, DE; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members. She is predeceased by her parents Harriet and Michael Semel.

A Celebration of Life Service for Marci will be held on Sunday, July 9, 2017 at 1:00 pm at the Menorah Chapels at Millburn, 2950 Vauxhall Road, Vauxhall (Union), NJ 07088. Shiva will follow immediately at 480 Thomas Street, Old Bridge, NJ 08857. Everyone is invited to bring written letters to Marci or pictures to leave with her.
