Margaret (Peggy) Hartwell went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Oct. 26, 2017. She lived 97 full years. Her life was filled with loving, giving, and serving others. She was born in Michigan in 1920 and moved to Florida with her Mother, Father and Brother in 1934. She was happy to be moving to Florida because she did not like the cold weather. She attended Orlando High School (now Howard Middle School) and Winter Park High School. During WWII she painted Naval ships in South Carolina, then lived in St. Louis, MO before moving back to Florida in 1955. She worked at the commissary in Orlando before she had to medically retire, due to an illness.

Peggy began volunteering at Spring Lake Elementary in January 1977 and was very faithful in her attendance until she turned 90 in 2010. She always enjoyed helping others, especially children and elderly. She was very creative and was always making things for others. The Teachers at Spring Lake Elementary were very appreciative of all the help she provided during her years of volunteering. She would help them grade papers, read with children, design and create their bulletin boards for them monthly.

She was a member of Orangewood Presbyterian Church, where she faithfully attended Church and Sunday School every Sunday that she was able.

She is survived by 4 loving daughters: Dolly, Mary, Linda (and her husband Buzz) and Tina (and her husband John); 16 Grandchildren; 22 Great Grandchildren; and 18 Great Great Grandchildren
