Margaret M. Cook, 88, passed away on January 3, 2017. She was preceded in death by her husband Jesse Lee Cook, parents, Forrest Conoley Madison and Naomi Norris Madison sister, Dorothy Madison Marshall, brother, James Forrest Madison and grand-daughter, Shelby Madison Weverink.

She is survived by her children; Stanley Forrest Cook (Candy), Mark Allen Cook (Cathy), Lee Martin Cook (Karen) and Julie Cook Weverink (Dennis) and her sister, Mary Madison Corbman. She is also survived by her 7 grandchildren; Jessica Cook Mims (Kevin), Kyle Cook, Kayla Cook Deal (Trent) Cole Cook (Jessi) Wesley Cook (Taylor), Marisa Cook and Sydney Weverink and her 5 great grandchildren; Cooper Cook, Carson Cook, Logan Mims, Sawyer Mims Emalynn Cook.

Mrs. Cook was born on August 30, 1929. She was the daughter of Forrest C. Madison and Naomi N. Madison. Most of her growing up years was spent in schools and playgrounds of the Capital Heights neighborhood where she lived in a house on McKinley Avenue. Margaret attended and graduated from Lanier High School where she met her future husband, Jesse L. Cook. They became engaged after his return from serving in the Navy during World War II and were married in 1947. She was employed by Montgomery Fair followed by 10 years with Aronov Reality as Executive Secretary until Jesse acquired Carburetor Electric Company where she served as the accountant until retirement. She raised three sons: Stanley Forrest Cook (Candy), Mark Allen Cook (Cathy), Lee Martin Cook (Karen) and one daughter Julie Cook Weverink (Dennis). She always had fond memories of the years spent with her family at their cabin on Lake Martin.

Services will be held January 10, 2018 at 11 am with the visitation at 10 AM at Leak Memory Chapel. Brandon Dasinger will officiate and Jerrod Dorminey will lead the music. Burial will be Greenwood Cemetery following the chapel service. Pallbearers will be Jim Bain Jr., Larry Bain, Kyle Cook, Cole Cook, Wesley Cook, Bob Marshall, Barry Corbman and Richard Corbman. Honorary Pallbearers will be Glenn Madison, Bill Pouncey and Colonel Hollis Lunsford.

Please make all memorials to Angels For the Elderly. A special thanks to all the caregivers that gave so much of their time during her illness.
