Margaret A. "Peggy" Szymanski, 70, of Taylor, died Thursday evening at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. She is survived by her best friend and devoted husband of 44 years, Carl M. Szymanski. Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Margaret Brace Bowen Kueider and was a 1962 graduate of West Scranton High School. Peggy was a parishioner of Mary, Mother of God Parish at Holy Rosary Church. Her grandchildren were the apple of her eye. She was a devoted wife and mother, who enjoyed reading, doing crosswords, going to the casino on Wednesday evening and working in her yard. Peggy will be dearly missed by her family, but her memory will live on in their hearts. In addition to her husband, Peggy is survived by a daughter, Carleen, of Bel Air, MD; a son, Carl, Thornhurst; two grandsons, Bryce and Drew; a sister, Janice Cottone and husband, Salvatore, Pensacola, FL; nieces, nephews and cousins. A brother, Michael Bowen preceded her in death. The funeral will be Tuesday, March 31, at 8:45 AM from the Semian Funeral Home, 704 Union St., Taylor, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 Am in Mary, Mother of God Parish at Holy Rosary Church, 316 William St., Scranton. Interment will follow in Saints Peter and Paul Cemetery, Taylor. Friends may call Monday 4-7 PM
