Margie Marie Marslett, 91, of Fort Worth, Texas, was welcomed into the presence of her Lord and Savior Christ Jesus on Wednesday, June 14, 2017. She passed away suddenly after succumbing to complications after a fall at Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital in Fort Worth, Texas.

Margie Marslett (nee. Anderson) was born in Childress, Texas on October 2, 1925 to C. T. “Charlie” Anderson and Martha Mattie-Jane Anderson (nee. Moon). Margie, after graduating from high school, studied to be a nurse at the Harris Methodist Nursing School, and finished her degree at Tarrant County Junior College in 1969. She served as a nurse at St. Joseph’s Hospital for thirty-three years (1957-1990). As a nurse, Margie worked the third shift, was a charge nurse, and worked in both cancer and respiratory wards. She also worked for Montgomery Ward, Tom’s Peanut Factory, and was a stay-at-home mother for several years. Margie volunteered several years for Meals on Wheels, taught twenty years for toddlers in Sunday school, volunteered for Vacation Bible School and AWANA and assisted many older seniors in their daily errands.

She enjoyed sharing her Christian faith, working in the garden, spending time with her family, baking with her grandchildren, reading, playing board games, traveling with her late husband to various places (Europe, Israel, Hawaii, Branson, MO, etc), and ironing clothing. She loved her country and her God, and was a faithful member of First Baptist Fort Worth (since 1948).

Margie is preceded in death by her father, Charlie Anderson; her mother, Martha Anderson; and her loving husband of sixty-nine years, Bill.

Margie is survived by her sons: Charles Marslett and wife Cindy of Pflugerville, Texas; David Marslett and wife Vickie of Fort Worth, Texas; and daughter, Janet Hardy (nee. Marslett) of Fort Worth, Texas. Furthermore, she is survived by six grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.

The family of Margie Marslett wishes to thank the First Baptist Church of Fort Worth, The Courtyards at River Park, Laurel Land Funeral Home and the friends who have loved and supported the family in their difficult time.
