Marguerite A. McVay, age 95 of Winter Springs, FL passed away peacefully on Friday, December 29, 2017. Marguerite was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on December 19, 1922 to the late George and Hilda Sommer.

She moved to Florida in 1958 with her husband, Scotty and their 4 children – Karen, Marilyn, Maureen and Bill. A few years later she gave birth to one last, beautiful daughter – Carole Diane.

Marguerite loved nothing more than her family. She spent her life devoted to her children, her grandchildren and her entire extended family. She lived for family gatherings, usually with her siblings and their families. She is well known for making some of the best food ever -everyone who knew her remembers her for one dish or another. If she was not busy caring for her family, she was shouting “BINGO” at a nearby VFW or bingo hall. She loved the Pittsburgh Steelers, and wouldn’t miss watching their games. She was often heard saying “Don’t touch me, I am a star”. She will ALWAYS be the STAR of our family, and we will always carry her memory in our hearts.

Marguerite is already dearly missed by the following who have survived her: Four daughters, Karen Ulrich of Leesburg, Marilyn White of Salt Springs, Maureen McVay (Joe) of Zellwood Station and Carole McVay-Daniels (Jimmy) of Oviedo, and one son Bill McVay (Maureen) Deltona. She is preceded in death by her husband Scotty McVay, son in law Thomas Ulrich and son in law Pete White. She also leaves behind seven loving grandchildren: Tommy Ulrich, Cindy Griffin Gray, Joan Ulrich Ferorelli, Linda Ulrich Wilkinson, Scott Ulrich, Billy McVay, Joey McVay and 12 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, January 2, 2018 from 6-8 PM at Baldwin Fairchild Funeral Home, East Altamonte Chapel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 1PM Wednesday, January 3, 2017 at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Parish, 861 Maitland Ave., Altamonte Springs, Florida 32701.
