LASATER, MARGUERITE AULT

She is survived by her sons, Rob Lasater and partner, Carol Spuhler, and John Lasater and partner, Sterling Harper, of Albuquerque; grandchildren, William Robert (Trey) Lasater III, and wife, Amber of Las Vegas, NV, Rev. Alisa Lasater Wailoo and husband, Chris of Washington, DC and their mother, Ellie, Kelly Lasater and wife, Ewa of Warsaw, Poland, and MacKenzie Lasater of Albuquerque and their mother, Beverley; four great-grandchildren, and her loyal dachshund Tigger. Marguerite was born in Trimble, IL and moved to El Dorado, KS with her family. She attended Kansas State University and worked at Boeing during World War II. Working with her husband Bob for many years in the family business, Lasater's Menswear, she established a women's department that continues to flourish. A life-long learner and walking dictionary, Marguerite had a voracious hunger for knowledge taking university classes throughout her life. A three time cancer survivor, she fought and defeated ovarian, kidney and breast cancer and found every opportunity to offer hope to others with the disease. Though many were touched by her sharp mind and genuine compassion, she was best known for her unending love and steadfast support of her husband, sons, and grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Central United Methodist Church (address below) or Animal Humane New Mexico 615 Virginia St. SE, Albuquerque, NM, 87108. Memorial Services will be held Wednesday, April 18, 2012, 3:00 p.m. at Central United Methodist Church, 201 University Blvd. NE.
