Marian Dolores Hansen was born on May 7th, 1933 to Mary and Hans Hansen in Perth Amboy, NJ. She attended local schools, and graduated from Perth Amboy High School in 1951. She played in the school orchestra and marching band, and the girls' basketball team. She played the clarinet, violin, accordion, and studied piano. She also enjoyed Math. She was originally known as Dolores, her Baptismal name, but insisted on Marian when, at age 8, a popular song, "How I Love the Kisses of Dolores" led to schoolyard teasing.

Marian moved to Miami, Florida when she was twenty-one years old. She worked for National Airlines. She met her future husband, Alex Power at a progressive dinner. They married on October 25, 1958 in Carteret, NJ. They were married for 55 years.

Marian and Alex raised two daughters, Karen and Linda. She volunteered as a religious education teacher and Girl Scout leader. Marian worked in accounting for many years. Her final occupation was that of Postal worker. She worked in the main mail facilities in both Miami and Orlando. Marian and Alex moved from Miami to Cocoa, Florida in 1989.

After retirement, Marian traveled to Alaska with friends, even taking a helicopter ride up to a glacier. She traveled to Canada and Niagara Falls with family members. Recently, she traveled up the east coast to visit relatives and friends.

Marian enjoyed travel, reading, going out to restaurants and movies, and visiting with family and friends. She was a true animal lover, and had many cherished pets over the course of her life. She was a true "Soccer Grandma", proudly attending sporting and school events. She attended church at Divine Mercy for many years, often with her sister.
