Marie Ann Stoffa Jackson, 94, of Merritt Island, Florida, passed away at her home on September 22, 2017. Marie was born in Freeland, Pennsylvania to Joseph Stoffa and Anna Grega Stoffa on September 16, 1923.

Marie graduated from Freeland High School in Freeland, PA, and went on to work for Eastern Airlines during World War II. During that time, she met who would become her forever love, Robert J. Jackson. They were married on January 5, 1945, in Baltimore, MD, and were together 53 years before his passing on December 25, 1998. She was a proud and devoted Army wife of 23 years serving alongside her husband during World War II, Korea, and Vietnam, never complaining when it was time to move on to another post and maintaining a constant source of guidance, love and strength for their two children, Robert and Dianne.

In 1968, they moved to Merritt Island, FL, where Marie continued to be a devoted wife, mother, grand-mother and great-grandmother. She is a founding member and long-time parishioner of Divine Mercy Catholic Church in Merritt Island, FL. She loved doing ceramics and for many years was an avid "couponer" taking all of her savings and giving them to her grandchildren for college.

Marie led the family with grace, love, compassion and strength - never turning away a request for help and always selflessly supporting others. She was the chief cook during hunting trips with family in Pennsylvania, the matriarch for all family gatherings, and the keeper of family traditions like pierogies and sauerkraut soup on Christmas Eve. She will be missed.

She is survived by her two children Robert Joseph Jackson and his partner Joan Bell of Merritt Island, FL; and Dianne Marie Jackson Kitchens Niemczyk of Cocoa Beach, FL; four grandchildren Beverly Kitchens Crowell and her spouse Thomas Crowell of Merritt Island, FL, Robert Jackson Jr. and his spouse Donna Jackson of Melbourne, FL, Michael Jackson of Indian Island, ME, and Terry Kitchens II and his spouse Cheryl Kitchens of Oklahoma City, OK; six great-grandchildren Jacob and Rebecca Crowell, Trey and Riley Jackson, Makenzie Kitchens and Caden Jackson; one sister Agnes Stoffa Cepil of Quakertown, PA, and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband Robert J. Jackson, parents Joseph and Anna Grega Stoffa, six brothers Joseph, Thomas, Albert, Francis, Edward and George Stoffa; and five sisters Anna Stoffa Starro, Margaret Stoffa Prokop, Pauline Stoffa Leary, Dorothy Stoffa Buda and Elizabeth Stoffa Behm.
Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Vincent De Paul Society at 1940 N Courtenay Pkwy., Merritt Island, FL 32953.

A funeral service will be held Thursday, September 28, at 9:30 am at Divine Mercy Catholic Church in Merritt Island.
