92, of Tampa, passed peacefully away at home on Saturday, December 3rd surrounded by her children. She was born and raised in Tampa and graduated from H.B. Plant High School. She worked at MacDill Airfield for several years before going on to National Airlines and later, TWA. After many years of courtship, she married Raphael Bentschner, USAF, in October of 1959. They spent many happy years stationed in Buenos Aires before returning to the US to raise their two children. A devoted mother, she was always involved volunteering in her children’s schools. She was a member of the Junior League of Tampa, and a lifelong member of St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church where she served on the Altar Guild and Vestry and was a member of the Daughters of the King. She was preceded in death by her husband of 36 years, Raphael. She is survived by her son, Paul R. (Sloan) Bentschner; daughter, Sue Marie MacIsaac; grandchildren: Olivia, Savannah, Michael, Grace, Caroline, and Logan; sister, Nell Rorebeck; nieces and nephews: Jan R. (David) Dees, Ann “Andy” M. Whitehouse, Robert (Ruthie) Rorebeck, Curtis (BA) Rorebeck; and several great nieces and nephews. The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to Marilyn Adams who cared for Marie Jane for over six years tending to her as if she were her own mother. We also would like to thank Ruth Torres and her mother, Minerva Encarnacion for their excellent care. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Marie Jane’s name to St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, 509 E. Twiggs St. A funeral service will be conducted on Friday, December 16th at 1pm at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, followed by interment at Woodlawn Cemetery.
