Marie Petrozzino, 93, of Newark, passed away Thursday September 15, 2016. Before retiring, Marie was a nurse's aide at the Geriatric Center in Belleville. During World War II, she joined the war effort as a factory worker. She loved being surrounded by her family and friends. Funeral 8:30 am Tuesday from the Megaro Memorial Home 503 Union Ave Belleville. Mass 10 am St. Lucy's Church, Newark. Entombment Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Montclair. Visitation Monday 4-8 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Vitas Hospice. Marie is survived by her sons Peter, Nicholas, and Robert, daughter Maria Volturo, sisters Marion and Antoinette, nine grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild. She was predeceased by her husband Attilio, parents Nicholas and Marianina, brothers Michael and Angelo, sisters Minnie, Jennie, Esther, Connie, Angie, and Lucy. Marie possessed a feisty personality, but no one can deny her generosity and compassion.
