Marie Sloyan Adam Piscataway, NJ Marie Sloyan Adam of Piscataway died peacefully at home on Saturday, August 05, 2017. Born in Plainfield to the late John and Anne Higgins Sloyan she moved to Piscataway 62 years ago. She was a parishioner of Our Lady of Fatima and currently St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Church, New Brunswick. Upon graduating high school, she worked for Bell Telephone in Newark before retiring to raise a family of six children. Spending quality time with her family is what she treasured most. She also enjoyed reading, sewing, gardening, and keeping an eye on politics. Her Catholic faith and love of family was a testament to her Irish heritage. She was greatly loved and will be missed. Mrs. Adam was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 54 years, Richard Franklin Adam, brother John J. “Jack” Sloyan Jr. and her sister Anne Lillian Getz. Surviving are her loving daughter Karen and husband James Martorano of Readington, five devoted sons, Richard and wife Debra of Branchburg, Scott of Middlesex, Christopher and wife Susanne of Bethlehem Township, Neil and wife Catherine of Frenchtown, and Terrace and wife Nicole of Branchburg; ten cherished grandchildren, Eric and wife Julie, Ryan, Kyle, Breanne and husband Mauricio, Kerry, Casey, Kelly, Adam, Brian, and Charlotte; two beloved great grandchildren, Gabriella and Claire; her dear in-laws, Diane Adam of Green Brook, Catherine Adam of Hamilton, and Thomas Adam and his wife Jane of Nashville, TN; and many wonderful nieces and nephews. Viewing will be held Thursday, August 10, 2017 from 4-8pm at the Branchburg Funeral Home 910 US Highway 202 South, Branchburg, NJ 08876. Funeral services will start with a prayer at the funeral home on Friday, August 11, 2017 at 9:00am followed by a 10:00am funeral liturgy at St. Mary of Mount Virgin R.C. Church, 192 Sandford St, New Brunswick, NJ. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery, Piscataway, NJ. Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to St. Perter's Parish Capital Renovation Campaign 94 Somerset Street New Brunswick, NJ 08901
