Marilyn Ann (Lochow) Koss died peacefully on Sunday May 14, 2017, she was 85.

She is survived by her sister, JoAnn Stokes of Placerville, CA, and her four children, Lora O'Kelly, Julia King, Susan Freeborn, and Larry Koss; and six grandchildren, Blaine and Ryan O'Kelly; Maria Sigmon, Melissa Weimer, Maggie King and Derek Freeborn. Marilyn had one great granddaughter, Camila Weimer. She was preceded in death by her two brothers, Charles and Milton Lochow.

She was born May 20, 1931 in Courtney, ND daughter of Raymond and Myra Lochow. Marilyn helped on the family farm working in the grain silo and making meals for everyone. She graduated from Jamestown College and went on to Chicago University for her Master's in social work.

She was a strong, independent woman that was ahead of her time. She spent most of her career helping others as a mental health counselor in Brevard County, Melbourne Kidney Center, and her private counseling office. A notable accomplishment, she established the Mental Health Center in Elk River, MN.

She was a member of Satellite Beach United Methodist Church. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, reading books, listening to music. Mostly, she loved spending time with her family and friends. Marilyn will always be remembered as a kind, loving, and grateful mother to her children, and grandchildren.

She will be missed by all who knew her.
