Marilyn Chaus, mother, grandmother, 88, died peacefully on June 18th, surrounded by her loving family. She is survived by her children Jeffrey and Jo Ann Chaus, Merrill and John Herzenberg and Ilya and Scott Hyatt, by her grandchildren Alexandra, Sarah, Justin, Danielle, Abbey and Brittany. She is also survived by her siblings, Larry, Alvin, and Utta Kravet. She is much missed by her close friend, Kathy Case. Born in Brooklyn, NY, on December 9, 1928, she later moved to Tenafly, NJ where she raised her family. She was a devoted mother to her three children, and loyal friend to hundreds of acquaintances. She was often known as the "honorary mayor of Tenafly". Her legacy is her devoted and loving family. Donations may be made to the Pancreas Transplant Research Fund, c/o Dr. Hans Sollinger, University of Wisconsin Hospital, 600 Highland Avenue, Division of Transplantation, Dept. H5/701, Madison, WI, 53792-7375. Funeral services will be at the William G. Basralian Funeral Home, 559 Kinderkamack Road, Oradell, NJ on Tuesday June 20th at 10:00AM. Internment to follow at the Sanctuary of Abraham and Sarah, 735 Forest Avenue, Paramus, NJ. The family will be sitting Shiva 5-8PM on Tuesday and Wednesday at the home of Jeffrey and Jo Ann Chaus and 5-8PM on Thursday evening at the home of Ilya and Scott Hyatt.
