Marilyn Elaine Bartolomeo, 84, of Lake Jackson, Texas passed away last Tuesday, November 8, 2016 at St. Luke's Hospital in Houston. Marilyn was born April 15, 1932 in Cranston, Rhode Island to Gladys and Raymond Miller. Marilyn married Frank Alfred Bartolomeo in Rhode Island on July 18, 1953.
In her early years, she was a noted prodigy, cheerleader, and the first in her family to graduate high school. She committed her life to her family as an active homemaker, cub scout leader, girl scout leader and school volunteer. Throughout her life, she took every opportunity to travel, visiting Greece, Mexico, England, Canada, Italy, China, and Russia. Marilyn appreciated the arts and pursued many creative venues herself including painting, knitting, needle point, quilting, sewing, crafting, and interior design. She had good taste, a memory like an elephant, and a penchant to tip big. She possessed a jubilant witty character and an uninhibited laugh.
Marilyn is preceded in death by her parents, Gladys Miller and Raymond Miller, and her sister, Barbara Couture.
She is survived by her husband and the families of her five children: Frank A. Bartolomeo, Frank B. and Karen Bartolomeo, Marc and Catherine Bartolomeo, Stephen Bartolomeo and Barbara Baggett, Bruce and Melissa Bartolomeo, and Elizabeth Bartolomeo. She has five grandchildren: Victoria Bartolomeo, Sara Bartolomeo, Kayla Bartolomeo, Canyon Mooney, and Sierra Grace Mooney.

Memorial service to be held at Restwood Funeral Home in Clute, Texas on Monday November 14 at 2pm.
