Marilyn "Judy" Smith, 77, of Fort Wayne, passed away on July 29, 2017 at her residence. She was born August 30, 1939 in Fort Wayne to the late Herman and Grace (Tom) Henry. She was a graduate of Elmhurst High School and then worked at Anthony Wayne Bank. After raising her family she joined her husband and worked as a Customer Service Representative at Davenport Insurance. She was a faithful member of Hope United Methodist Church and the Evening Guild. She was also a member of the Marion Homemakers and a Hospitality Host for the Fort Wayne International Airport. She was a breast cancer survivor. She had a generous heart, always looking to help others whether she was fixing meals, knitting beanies, or making her homemade cards that all enjoyed opening. Crafting was one of her many hobbies she shared with family and friends. She always put the needs and wants of others before her own. Surviving are her loving family, including her husband of 58 years, Larry Smith; daughters, Jodi (Jeff) Jump and Janell (James) Petre; and grandchildren, Clinton and Eric Jump, Mackenzie and Shea Petre. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Paul Henry; father in law, Brice Smith; and mother in law, Geraldine Smith. Funeral service will be Thursday, August 3, 2017 at 11 AM at Hope United Methodist Church, 6608 Hoagland Road, Hoagland, IN 46745 with visitation one hour prior. Visitation will also be on Wednesday, August 2, 2017 from 3 to 8 PM at Elzey Patterson Rodak Home For Funerals, 6810 Old Trail Road, Fort Wayne, IN 46809. Burial will be in Poe Williamsport Cemetery. Preferred memorials may be made to Hope United Methodist Church, Heritage Lions Club, or Francine's Friends.
