Marion Louise Deegan 1924 – 2010 ORANGE-Marion Louise Deegan of Walnut Hill Street, Orange, MA, passed into eternal rest on Friday, April 16, 2010, surrounded by loving family. Marion graduated from Orange H.S. and worked as secretary to the Orange Superintendant of Schools and then as a bookkeeper for the Orange Clothing Company. She later established a day care facility for preschoolers, which she ran for twenty years. Prior to her retirement, she worked as a sales and customer service representative for Halpern Wholesale Food Services of Boston. Marion enjoyed cooking, baking, music, musical choreography, and spending quality time with family and friends. Marion is predeceased by her husband, Paul Deegan Sr., and their daughter, Susan Mary Deegan-Howe. Marion leaves behind her two sisters, Sylvia Lawson and her husband Hugh Lawson, of Phoenixville, PA, Nyca Hall and her husband Arnold Hall of Westerly, RI; her two sons Paul Deegan Jr. and his wife Beverly McCarthy of Chicopee, and Timothy Deegan of Orange and Houston, TX; and her daughter Debra Deegan and her partner Jennifer Edminster of Orange. She also leaves two grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. There will be no calling hours. A memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to Franklin County Home Care, 330 Montague City Road, Turners Falls, MA 01376-2529 or to Gardner Visiting Nurse Association Hospice, 34 Pearly Lane, Gardner, MA 01440.
