Winslow-On October 28, 2011, Marjorie McCaslin passed away quietly, surrounded by family, at the age of 86. She was born in Waterville, ME on July 22, 1925, the daughter of Carl and Vera (Page) Sawtelle.

Marge married Harvey McCaslin, on August 29, 1944. They spent 50 years together, in Winslow, farming and raising their family. She was a longtime member of the Rebekah's. Her favorite things to do were: visiting with family and friends, reading, going to garage sales, playing cards & games, going for rides in the car and singing Happy Birthday. She was a very special, loving mother who always opened her arms to her children, and any friends who needed a home. Marge will be remembered for her sparkling blue eyes, the winks and her tender, loving smile.

Marge was predeceased by her husband, Harvey, 3 brothers and 2 sisters. She is survived by 1 sister Betty Cyr and her husband Edgar; Two sisters in law Elizabeth and Hattie Bumps and Brother in law David McCaslin; Aunt Leola Roberts; her children Edward and Ruthanne McCaslin of Chardon, OH; Carl McCaslin and Annette Brown of Oakland; Barbara Lambert and David West of Clinton; Bruce McCaslin, her loving caregiver, and his partner Alan Groudle of Winslow; Colleen Leathers and Didin Pooler of Vassalboro; Andrew and Heather McCaslin of Preston, CT; Rodney and Judy McCaslin of Winslow; Kenneth and Brenda Brown of Hermon and Michael Henry of Virginia; 15 grandchildren Jeffrey, Julia, Rachel, Jeremy, Jonathon, Jennifer, Brandon, Nathan, Brian, Kalena, Tyler, Corey, Kyle, Lindsay, Derek, Nicole & Stephanie; 9 great-grandchildren Dillon, McKenzie, Aiden, Connor, Isaac, Joshua, Alexis, Colby, Parker & numerous nieces, nephews and several other in-laws.

Special thanks to all of her friends, neighbors, and Hospice of Eastern Maine who gave great care and comfort in her final days.

Services will be held on Friday, November 4th at 1:00 P.M. at the ME Veterans Memorial Chapel, Civic Center Drive in Augusta. Friends and Family are welcomed to gather at the family home (104 Eames Rd. Winslow, ME 04901) from 3:00 - 5:00 after the service. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Hospice of Eastern Maine or another charity of your choice.
