Marjorie Ethel (Graebner) Bird, 86, of Clearwater, FL passed away on Friday, January 12, 2018. She was born on February 4, 1931, to the late Ethel (Groulx) and Arthur Graebner in Bay City, MI. As a child, she became an accomplished pianist and enjoyed summer vacations with her extended family at Van Etten Lake, MI. Her family moved to Wabash, IN where she graduated from Wabash High School in 1949. After high school, she worked for the Indiana and Michigan Electric Company in Fort Wayne, IN for several years. While there, a roommate introduced her to the vivacious James Bird of Ft. Wayne and the rest is history. The pair were married on November 17, 1956, at St. Barnards in Wabash. The pride of her life was raising her three sons: Richard, Kenneth, and Michael. James and Marjorie moved around the country before finally settling in Clearwater, FL in 1980. She spent her golden years as an avid reader, a passionate Disney enthusiast, a keen puzzle-solver (especially cross-word puzzles), and a committed traveler, visiting all of the 50 states. She will be most fondly remembered as a loving mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her parents and daughter-in-law, Kimmerly Klee-Bird. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, James; sons Richard (Leslie) of Reston, VA, Kenneth of Greenwood, IN, and Michael (Carla) of Mount Kisco, NY; and grandchildren Katelyn of Boston, MA, Kristopher (Colleen) of Chicago, IL, and Shelisa of Mount Kisco, NY. A viewing will be 3-5 Friday Jan 19th at Sylvan Abbey Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 5 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to the American Red Cross or St. Jude Children's Hospital.
